Warm Fuzzy is a whimsical journey through suburbia with 16 year-old Josh and his companion Fuzzy as they make philanthropy the order of the day. We follow Josh and Fuzzy on their misadventures riding his bike on a warm spring day. Fuzzy however is not your typical sidekick, he is an inanimate novelty toy with a special connection to Josh.
Everything in world of Warm Fuzzy is a little off – from the suburban perfection, to the fact that Fuzzy is a googly eyed fuzz ball perched on Josh’s shoulder. Their enthusiasm for doing good deeds is at once sweet and at the same time weird. Along the way they meet Mrs. Pickwick, the octogenarian with her disturbing sexual undertones, Mr. Jones the alcoholic green thumb, a little girl who’s not as innocent as she looks, a group of neighborhood brats, and Mrs. Plimpton who sees Josh as a bad seed. For a shockingly funny twist, Josh and Fuzzy meet their hormonal undoing as they cross paths with the sexy neighbor Mrs. Willis.
There is an odd innocence about Josh and Fuzzy, which is delightful, but also a little disturbing. The story reflects this duality, contrasting energy and whimsy with a vague sense that “something’s up.” A host of interesting characters and neighborhood dilemmas await Josh and Fuzzy. Warm Fuzzy is a fun and surprising ride with more than meets the eye, reminding us that for better or worse we all have a little Warm Fuzzy inside of us!
